News Release
Date: 4 July 2007
As well as gracing the skies at Airbourne, Eastbourne’s International Airshow, expert aviators from the Army Air Corps helicopter display team (the Blue Eagles) and Historic Aircraft Flight will be dropping into the Officers’ Club to meet visitors.
Guests can meet the pilots, including Major George “Smoky” Bacon MBE, and enjoy an exclusive day out with exquisite food, fine wine and uninterrupted views of the flying displays. And on Thursday 16th August tickets for the Officers’ Club cost just £55 per person, a saving of £15.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Economy, Tourism & Environment, Councillor Steve Wallis said “We’re honoured that Major Bacon and his colleagues have agreed to meet Officers’ Club guests to share their stories of flying experiences. Visitors really will get an exclusive insider’s view of the wonderful Airbourne event.”
The Officers’ Club allows guests to enjoy Airbourne in comfort and style. The Club opens at 11.00, welcoming visitors with tea, coffee and warm pastries. Champagne and canapés are served prior to a three-course lunch which includes a complimentary glass of wine. Top quality dining and the best views of the flying displays make for a special Airbourne experience.
Airbourne is the world’s biggest seafront airshow and takes place from 16th-19th August.
